Nowadays a lot of people spend their holidays travelling. Some of them prefer to travel abroad while others consider that it is better to travel in their own country.
In my opinion, it is wonderful to travel around the world. First of all, it broadens our mind. When we travel we learn a lot about the culture of different countries. Besides, travelling abroad is a good way to improve foreign languages, because communication with the native speakers is a good experience for those who study foreign languages.
However, many people are against travelling abroad. Firstly, they think that we must be patriotic and know the culture and the history of our own country very well. In other words, we should travel around our native country. Secondly, for the majority of people it is very expensive to travel abroad, so they enjoy to spend holidays in their own country.
As for me, I cannot agree with them. To begin with, it is not right not to visit foreign countries. In modern world travelling helps to the process of globalization which is very important for the development of every country. More than that, if people have friends in foreign countries, travelling abroad is not so expensive.
All in all, every country and every place is unique and every nation has its own, one and only, way of life. So its up to you to decide whether to travel abroad or to travel around your own country.
